I am a plein air painter because it is a tangible way to really connect with the beauty of nature. Capturing that moment in time is exciting. It's worth all the effort. Quickly painting the fleeting effects of light give energy to the painting as well as the artist. With the forces of nature all around me, even the sweet sounds of the birds, somehow become a part of the painting. I usually work on a smaller format when painting from on site and try to come away with many small paintings.
